In a gesture that we are sure not to disturb and annoy anyone in the Rainbow Six Siege community, Ubisoft had decided to edit some images of the game. According to the latest developer blog, the company is currently trying to extend the game to Asian territories. This is why many images in the game could be considered controversial and inappropriate and could never be approved by an approval committee. Thus, rather than creating a special version for some countries, the society modifies the conceptions of some areas, as you can see below, in order to give a uniform aspect to the game, which will be acceptable in all territories.
We have some of the changes explained below, but what they wanted to make clear is that it's just a visual change and the gameplay has not been affected. But let's be honest, that will not stop the community from complaining, which it is already doing en masse on Reddit.
WE WANT STREAMLINE OUR PRODUCTION TIME TO INCREASE EFFECTIVENESS
By maintaining a single version, we are able to reduce the duplication of work on the development side. This will allow us to be more agile as a development team and solve problems faster.
WE WANT TO BE FUTURE PROOF
Having the same people working on a global version of the game ensures that we need to do the work only once. In addition, we can ensure that any future changes will be aligned with the global regulations we are working on.
WE GO DO NOT CHANGE THE CORE OF THE GAME
We are committed to ensuring that the Rainbow Six Siege experience stays true to its roots. We adjust the illustrations and visuals, but do not compromise what makes Rainbow Six Siege the game you know today.
