Update World of Warcraft 8.2 takes us to the land of Nagas

World of WarcraftFirst major postBattle for Azeroth content update, Tides of Vengeance, will be launched on December 11, but it is not important at the moment. The update after thisRise of Azshara will lead players to the Naga home of Azjatar, the city of Mechad's lost gnomes, and beyond.

At BlizzCon today, Blizzard gave fascinating details about the 8.2. Players already knew that Azshara, the Naga queen of Azeroth, would be the big bad guy for the update. What they did not know was how they would end up in the frightful state of the royal palace for this fateful confrontation. While the Horde and Alliance forces are unleashed following Update 8.1, the Naga rise from the oceans to attack island outposts on both sides. While searching for the source of the water scourge, the Horde and the Alliance discover Nazjatar, the country where Queen Azshara reigns.

Nazjatar is a complete play area with story content, powerful equipment and new allies on both sides of the ongoing conflict. According to World of Warcraft: the sequel Presented at BlizzCon this afternoon, the development team is taking inspiration from the funniest elements of the previous final play zones to ensure that there is something new to do every day in Nazjatar.

As if a new Naga-infested area were not enough, Rise of Azshara also solves the mystery of the abandoned Junkheap, my favorite. Battle for Azeroth area. Visitors to the picturesque site may have noticed this locked door.

In Rise of Azshara, this door opens and leads to the mysterious mechanical mecca of Mechagon. It's a lost city filled with robotic enemies and cybernetic gnomes.

Mechagon also offers a mega-dungeon, a mythical adventure (for the moment) with eight different bosses, culminating in a fight with King Mechagon himself.

Also comes in the extension Rise of Azshara:

  • Legacy Armor for Taurens and Gnomes
  • Scenarios for the leaders of the Horde and the Alliance
  • More exhibitions on the island, with two new areas
  • PVP Arena on Mechagon Theme
  • Heroic war frontiers

That's a lot, and I'm practically absent for every ball on this list. We will certainly learn more about Rise of Azshara in the months to come, because we still have to survive Tides of Vengeance and all the incremental absurdities that occur in 8.15.
