The much-anticipated Fortuna update for Warframe is down this week. Fortuna presents a large open world site on Venus, called Orb Vallis, where you can jump, grind and surf on skateboarding boards. The area includes cave systems, underground Corpus facilities and a neon-lit center city full of vendors.
There will of course be new guns to make, including modular Kitguns developed by the new Fortuna faction, Solaris United. If you're fed up with supplementing and looting Corpus bases, you can extract, fish and catch animals to support a conservation project. The latter is perhaps the best part of the expansion – look at this little guy.
A new Warframe, the bloody Garuda, will be launched alongside Fortuna. Learn more about what she can do in our overview. Basically, she steals as much blood as she can (including hers) and turns it into damage. It can also tear enemies in half at the touch of a button.
This announcement contains interesting insights on upcoming high-level challenges. "The four quadrants of the game, bases of enemy operations, are patrolled by giant spider-robots, while spiders of small and medium-sized robots appear on the giant field." Digital Extremes hinted that giant robot robots could wake up and play a role in future challenges.
Like all Warframe extensions and the basic game, Fortuna is completely free and will be available via Steam. We do not know exactly which day the extension will start, but we will be looking for guides for you. Until then, check out Steven 's tips on preparing for the Fortuna expansion and discover some of the new weapons and armor pieces that Fortuna will add.
