When some apps are active, you'll notice that a small version of the app's icon will appear at the top of your watch's screen. I saw this status icon when the music application is used, with mapsand walkie-talkie. If the icon does not disappear, as is the case for walkie talkies, you can press it to open the corresponding application.

From WatchOS 5, you can now view the links sent to you in messages or e-mails directly on the watch. So the next time someone sends you a link via SMS or you want to post an email newsletter, go ahead, tap the link.

Forget about having to say "Hey Siri" every time you raise your wrist to interact with the digital assistant of Apple. There is a new Raise to speak feature that recognizes when you lift your wrist to your mouth and starts listening to a command.

The trick to make it work is to start talking after lifting your wrist. If you do not start talking, the Siri interface does not show up. It took me a few tries for me to understand it, but now it is natural.

You can disable the Increase settings to talk under General > Siri in the Apple Watch Settings app.

The Siri watch on WatchOS is not new, but from WatchOS 5, the Siri watch will begin to display suggested Siri shortcuts that include third-party applications. Do not be surprised if you randomly see a map suggesting a route back home or calling someone at home after installing WatchOS 5.

To customize what appears on the Siri watch, open the Watch application on your iPhone and select your Siri watch. Scroll down the list and locate the Data sources, Sports, and Third-party applications sections.

If you use your iPhone to get directions while driving, you know that it can be annoying to have the beep and vibration of your watch, even if your phone or CarPlay provides voice guidance at the same time.

With WatchOS 5, you can disable the added tips in the watch application of your iPhone. In the Watch app, open Maps, and then disable each alert you no longer want.

Customize the control center
