Microsoft has fixed dozens of bugs, including several connection issues, some of which persisted throughout the life of Windows 10 April 2018, version 1803.
These issues have been fixed in a new version of Windows 10 for the 1803 release, which brings a long list of fixes following the Patch Tuesday update this month.
Cumulative updates are also available for the Creator Update, version 1703, which could be the last update before 1703 reaches the end of October 9 service for mainstream users.
Businesses and education customers now benefit from a longer 30-month support period to ease the pressure on administrators who have trouble keeping up with Windows feature upgrades 10, as Microsoft announced at the beginning of the month.
For consumers however, 1703 updates will stop when Microsoft releases Windows 10 version 1809 or the update of October 2018 next month.

The cumulative update for Windows 10 1803 detailed in KB4458469 brings the operating system version to 17134.319 and processes 53 bugs. The details of the 30 fixes available for 1703 are listed in Microsoft KB4457136.
But for 1803, this update fixes bug loads affecting Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Outlook, as well as issues affecting the layout of custom keyboards as well as Bluetooth pairing issues.
There are also several security-related bugs that may have spoiled the login experience on Windows 10. Some users have struggled to manage them since the update to version 1803.
Users who have found that their fingerprint sensor for the connection was no longer working after upgrading from version 1709 should check if it is working again after this update. It has been corrected, according to Microsoft.
And Microsoft fixed a bug that prevented users from connecting to a Windows 10 S PC with a PIN after upgrading to version 1803.
At the time of this update, these users of Windows 10 S should no longer see the message: "Your PIN is no longer available due to a change in the security settings of this device".
In audit mode, Windows Defender Application Control (Device Guard) also incorrectly recorded valid drivers that should be considered "negative events". This should no longer be the case.
Some version 1803 laptops could not finish their session when they disconnected and immediately shut down the laptop. "As a result, when the laptop is reopened, the device needs to be rebooted," notes Microsoft.
Business users may find it difficult to unlock or connect to a computer after leaving the local area network or wireless LAN for example to use a home LAN. This is corrected, says Microsoft.
A mysterious bug was causing systems that do not have a smart card reader installed to take up to 60 seconds longer to boot than normal.
