After four years apart, the updated Mac mini has arrived. It is a powerful and versatile machine. AppleInsider was lucky enough to spend some time on it, and while it looks similar, it's a big improvement over the much touted 2012 model.

Apple has retained the rounded exterior of the Mac mini, including the user-accessible bottom and a range of ports at the back. The vocal base of Mac mini has been clearly heard, Apple taking to heart many considerations. The memory consists of two SO-DIMM slots that can be upgraded by the user and the flat-body design makes it an excellent choice for server farms.

At the back we found several Thunderbolt 3 ports, HDMI, USB-A, audio out and a Gigabit Ethernet port that can be upgraded to purchase for a 10GB port. What we have found more impressive is a stack of five Mac Minis. , connected via Ethernet, performs the tasks assigned by Final Cut, Logic and Xcode while the main machine performs its normal tasks.
We love the space gray box, but Apple might have had to call it the Mac Mini Pro, associated with the iMac Pro Space Gray. The body, made from exclusive recycled aluminum, has the same appearance as any other Apple aluminum, apart from its color.
The real test of the Mac Mini lies in its performance. We could only scratch the surface in the demonstration area of Apple. We will soon have the machines in our lab to test them and see how they align.
