A year ago, Blizzard was explaining why he had closed fan-created "classic" servers, created to recreate qWorld of Warcraft as it was when it was launched, as they were creating a retro-style server. World of Warcraft Classic promised to give players the "vanilla" experience offered by the MMO at launch. It was a big announcement. It was nostalgic. It was exciting. That's all we've heard for a very, very long time.
Now, the company has announced that its fans could return to the original version of Azeroth in the summer of 2019.
No, it is not as early as some players hoped, but fans will not have to wait until summer to get a taste: Blizzcon participants will be able to play a demonstration of WOW Classic during the event. The demo will also be available to digital ticket holders via the Blizzard Battle.net app.
Unfortunately, the demo is not an early beta version of the MMO. Players will be limited to 60-minute gaming sessions with a 90-minute cooldown. There is no limit to the number of times you can play it, but you can only play it for one hour at a time. This is not enough for a marathon MMO session, but it's enough to help you know if you want to return to Azeroth.
