Following his removal announcement Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal"Intimacy Mode" at the request of Sony, XSEED faces strong criticism from its fans who accuse the company of giving way under pressure. Several XSEED employees, including location producer Tom Lipschultz, explain why they were "forced" to accept Sony's requests.
When fans have suggested that Burst Re: NewalThe PlayStation 4 version of the company should have simply been canceled in retaliation, said Lipschultz, saying that such a decision would bring a "huge" financial blow to XSEED, but also to Honey Parade Games, and would lead to 39, alienation of a fanbase nothing to do with the decision of Sony.
The cancellation would bring a huge financial blow on us AND the developer, would tie up our relationships with basically all the people involved, alienate the part of the fanbase that wants to play the game on PS4 independently (and yes, they matter), and basically hurt everyone involved.
Calling this a "loser-loser" situation, Lipschultz reiterated that developers and publishers do not have the luxury of getting rid of all their arduous work over a single mode. He also suggested that XSEED was not happy with the situation and that there would be some "resistance" behind the scenes.
That said, Lipschultz expressed disappointment with the fans who blamed XSEED for the fiasco.
