The Nintendo Online Subscription Service for Switch has been launched, and one of the benefits of the subscription is access to a NES game library. Each of these classic titles supports one form of online play, whether playing directly against another player in Balloon Fight or controlling the action in turn in a traditional single player title, but until the games can be played offline. According to the FAQ page of the Nintendo website, the NES games included in the Nintendo Switch Online service can be read offline for seven days. In addition to the NES library, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will be able to back up their Switch data via cloud backups. However, not all Switch games will support this feature and you will need to have an active subscription to keep your backups on the cloud. There will also be "special offers" exclusive to Switch Online subscribers, such as a pair of NES-shaped Joy-Cons for use with the aforementioned NES titles.
Nintendo offers subscriptions to Switch Online in three stages; You will also have the option of purchasing an annual family plan, which will extend the benefits of the service to eight Nintendo accounts on multiple consoles.
