SALT LAKE CITY – Utah reported 1,637 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, along with 11 additional deaths.

The 7-day moving average for positive tests increased to 1,424 per day. The 7-day moving average for the percentage of “people to people” positivity is 15.4%. and the 7-day moving average for the percentage of “test-to-test” positivity is 10.2%.
Among the new cases, school-aged children accounted for 362 of them, including 187 cases in children aged 5 to 10 years, 77 cases in children aged 11 to 13 years and 98 cases in children aged 14 to 18 years old.
572 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
“In the past 28 days, unvaccinated people are 15.8 times more likely to die from COVID-19, 12.1 times more likely to be hospitalized from COVID-19 and 6.8 times more risk of positive tests for COVID-19 than vaccinated ”, reports the UDOH. “As of February 1, 2021, unvaccinated people are 9.8 times more likely to die from COVID-19, 7.8 times more likely to be hospitalized from COVID-19 and 4.1 times more risks of positive tests for COVID-19 than those vaccinated. “
