The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is warning residents of the Chattanooga area of potential exposure to COVID-19 following interaction with members of one of its fraternities, according to a press release from officials from UTC.
UTC’s COVID-19 Campus Support Team and Hamilton County Health Department team up to trace contacts to determine those who may be exposed to the virus by members of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at from August 8. also help the school in its efforts to establish contact with students.
No information has been released on how many members of the Kappa Sigma fraternity have tested positive for COVID-19.
People who may have been exposed are encouraged to get tested and cooperate with the UTC team and complete UTC’s COVID-19 online notification form at https://cm.maxient.com/reportingform.php?UTChattanooga&layout_id=61 or contact the Office of Outreach and Student Support at (423) 425-2299 or [email protected].
The COVID-19 test for UTC employees and students is available from their health care provider, University Health Services, and the Hamilton County Department of Health. The school “is taking all necessary precautions to protect the UTC community as fall semester classes begin Monday,” the statement said.
