Janet Willhaus, associate professor at the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing at the University of Wyoming, has been appointed to the editorial board of STORM magazine.

STORM stands for Simulation Technician Operations Resource Magazine. This is a new publication from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH).

“It will highlight the work of people who work in healthcare simulation operations, not education,” said Willhaus.

Willhaus is Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at the UW School of Nursing, and she is also the Director of the Masters Program. Her credentials include being a certified healthcare simulation operations specialist, an indicator of expertise in how to run a simulation program.

“Only a handful of people in the country meet these requirements,” says Willhaus.

STORM Editorial Board members must have at least two years in a healthcare / education simulation operations role. They should also have experience reviewing submissions from conferences, publications or events or similar resources that require review by subject matter experts; and be a current SSH member.

STORM was created to highlight non-academic work that contributes to the advancement in the field of healthcare simulation operations. In addition to creating a prestigious publication as a resource for the healthcare simulation community, the role of the Editorial Board is also to advise and support the Editor-in-Chief.
