Meghan McCain has officially lost her spot at the Hot Topics table.

ViewMcCain’s season 24 finale also became McCain’s swan song, following the conservative commentator’s earlier announcement that she would not be returning for the historic 25th season of the daytime talk show, which will debut in September.

At the end of Friday’s show, the outgoing panelist took a moment to reflect on her four-season journey.

“I don’t know what else to say, other than thank you very much… for the privilege and honor it has been to work on this show,” she began. “It was really amazing. It will be referenced in everything I do for the rest of my life. You women have been so amazing working with you. The team, the producers… everyone works so hard. She also especially thanked the audience “for giving me four years to give my opinion and show my point of view.”

“It was a really crazy race,” McCain continued. “It was the best and the worst time ever, on and off the show. It was a truly amazing and liberating experience, and I will always cherish the time I have spent with all of you. So thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, and I hope our executive producer Brian [Teta] can forgive me for raising his blood pressure for years, as much as I probably have.

McCain’s farewell also included prerecorded congratulations from former House Speaker Paul Ryan and a virtual appearance from his mother Cindy McCain.

“I am so proud of Meghan”, she noticed. “I think she did a great job… her dad would be so proud of her. I wish her the best in whatever effort she chooses to make, but I’m glad she’s chosen a little family over too much work right now.

McCain has been a conservative voice on the daytime talk show since 2017. She initially confirmed her departure on July 1. “It was not an easy decision,” she said at the time. “This show is one of the greatest, most exhilarating and wonderful privileges of my entire life. It’s a privilege to work alongside such strong, bright, intelligent and amazing broadcasters… You are the most talented women in all of television, hands down, and it’s been so amazing doing this with you.

ABC, meanwhile, made the following statement:

“Over the past four years, Meghan McCain has brought her fierce determination and her vast political knowledge and experience to View. She recently came to us with her decision to leave the show at the end of this season, a difficult choice she made for herself and her family that we respect and understand. We wish Meghan the best as she plans her next chapter, and thank her for the passion and unique voice she has shared with us and our viewers every day.
