Kate Courtney and Keegan Swenson headline the US Marathon MTB World Championships team

Seven Americans will travel to Tuscany, Italy, to compete in the MTB Marathon World Championships.

The team’s headliners are 2021 U.S. National Cross Country MTB Champion Keegan Swenson (Santa Cruz Bicycles) and 2018 Cross Country MTB World Champion Kate Courtney (SCOTT-SRAM Factory Racing).

The 2021 UCI MTB Marathon World Championships are scheduled to take place on Elba on October 2, 2021. The men will complete a 115 km course and the women will cover 80 km through the countryside of Capoliveri.

With Courtney in the women’s team, Kelly Catale, who recently ran in the Top 15 of the UCI Mountain Bike Marathon Series in Arbent, France. Kyle Trudeau, Alex Wild, Will Foley and Jules Goguely complete the men’s team.

French XC MTB star Victor Koretzky joins B&B HOTELS p / b KTM road team

Victor Koretzky’s third place at the MTB World Championships in Val di Sole last month sealed a new deal for the Frenchman.

For the next two seasons, the 27-year-old will race on the road with the French team pro conti B&B HOTELS p / b KTM. The contract will allow him to continue competing on the cross-country mountain biking World Cup circuit.

According to Koretzky, who has won the XCO World Cup races in Albstadt and Lenzerheide this season, “the road has always made me dream”.

“I want to find out what I’m capable of at this level,” said the Frenchman. “When I see all these mountain bikers or former mountain bikers shining on the biggest races in the world, I tell myself that we have to seize the opportunities, to rush where the doors open.

B&B HOTELS p / b KTM General Manager Jérôme Pineau said he had Koretzky in mind for the team since his formation four years ago.

“Victor wanted to stay 100% focused on mountain biking until the Tokyo Games and he did well,” said Pineau. “It has been successful for him, there is no doubt that he will lose the thread of his current practice. We can see how mountain bikers are able to perform on the road and Victor is of the caliber of Van Der Poel or Pidcock. His physical capacities are exceptional, his agility and his explosiveness too, he is an extraordinary boy who will bring to the club all his freshness, his fun side and his taste for fun cycling. Victor is intelligent, the road bike is already part of his daily life, he will know how to measure the work to be done to adapt his qualities to the demands of the road.

Koretzky will compete in the final UCI World Cup event of the year in Snowshoe, West Virginia this weekend.

The list of Denmark’s stars at the World Championships

After three stage victories at the Vuelta a España 2021, Magnus cort will headline a list of stars in 2021 UCI Road World Championships.

Cort won stages 6, 12 and 19, as well as the general prize for fighting spirit during the Spanish Grand Tour.

Team BikeExchange bikes stolen from the Tour de l’Ardèche

The Tour de l’Ardèche ends on Tuesday and replacement bikes have been sent to the race.
