About 42% of Americans visit Walmart in person or online at least once a week, many of which shop for groceries, the retailer reports. Maple Island Inc., the maker of Walmart’s Parent’s Choice rice baby cereal, is voluntarily recalling certain batches of the product, the company said in a notice posted to the FDA website on Oct. 8.
Three 8-ounce lots. Parent’s Choice baby rice cereal wrappers are affected by the recall. To see if yours is in any of these, check the expiration date, lot code, and UPC numbers in the lower left corner on the back of the package.
- Lot 21083 with UPC number 00681131082907 with an expiration date of June 24, 2022
- Lot 21084 with UPC number 00681131082907 with an expiration date of June 25, 2022
- Lot 21242 with UPC number 00681131082907 with an expiration date of November 30, 2022
All of the recalled grain products were sold after April 5, according to Maple Island Inc.

The FDA does routine product sampling, and in doing so, with Parent’s Choice Baby Rice Cereal, found that a three-lot sample “tested above recommendations for natural inorganic arsenic.” , indicates the recall notice.
