Wanted: Tribute to Veterans Day – The Lima News

Veterans Day is November 11, and The Lima News would like to hear from our readers for a special publication. We are looking for stories of people who are on active duty as well as people who have served in the past. We also invite families to share their thoughts on what serving their loved one meant to them.

We would love to hear your thoughts on how you have been transformed by your military service. Were you on a certain career path that was interrupted? Did you make the military your career once you learned it? Did your department open jobs for you afterwards? Where did you serve and would you have seen these other countries or places otherwise? Do you have the desire to return to one of the places you have served? Where were some of your military friends from and were their backgrounds very different from yours? If you have been changed by your department, were the changes positive or negative?

• Your name, including when and where you served in the military

• All photos taken during your service time plus a current photo. If you would like to submit via email, please attach a high resolution .jpg file instead of pasting the image into the body of the email. If you prefer to send a photo by post, please send us a reprint of the photo instead of the original. Photos will not be returned.

• Your current age

• Your address and telephone numbers (not for publication)

• Your story. Stories should be at least 500 words long, but longer stories are welcome.
