Australian police captured beautiful images of a meteor illuminating the night sky.
Police, fire and emergency services in the Northern Territory posted CCTV images on Facebook on May 19.
"Whoa! Police have received reports that a large "fireball" will cross the sky between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek just after midnight, "officials said. "It turns out that Earth is currently moving in the tail of Halley's comet and that it was a meteor shower."
