Georgia beat Arkansas on Saturday and Razorback head coach Sam Pittman said several revealing things in his post-game press conference.
Arkansas became Georgia’s second top 10 win this season. Pittman praised Georgian culture and praised the coaching staff for having their players ready to play.
“They’re big and physical. Kirby had his team ready, and I didn’t.”
Arkansas managed just 131 total yards, including 60 on game final possession. They couldn’t find the scoreboard and only threatened once when kicker Cam Little missed a 37-yard field goal.
Pittman spoke of the Georgia defensive front, which lived in the backfield against Arkansas.
“They have the best 7 defensive front I’ve seen. They have guys on the 2-man team who could start for a lot of teams across the country. “
The Bulldogs have now pitched back-to-back shutouts: one against Vanderbilt in Week 4 and now against Arkansas.
Many are looking in Georgia for a place in the SEC championship. Sure, that’s a long way off, but the hype is understandable. In modern college football, offense reigns supreme, but Georgia has built their unique formula to reach the top in 2021.
They play an efficient, non-spinning attack and dominate teams on the defensive end of the ball. Sam Pittman put it best within minutes of starting his presser when he said:
“Georgia was much better than us today.”
