MAYVILLE – Chautauqua Lake defeated Clymer / Sherman in straight sets, 25-10, 25-13, 25-21 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West II women’s volleyball action on Thursday.

The Thunderbirds were led by Lily Woodis with eight kills, two aces and three blocks; Jessica Wiemer with seven kills and one block; Jenna Waters with six wins and seven digs; and Ava Olson with four kills, three aces, nine digs and eight assists.

Jenna Waters of Chautauqua Lake was honored with her 1,000-digger ball after the game. Waters reached the total on September 4.

Clymer / Sherman was led by Karly Honey with two kills, one block and two digs; Mikala Einink with seven assists; Reagan Bates with five digs and Hayden Fisher with two kills and two digs.

Chautauqua Lake remained perfect with a 7-0 record in the league and overall while Clymer / Sherman fell to 4-5 overall and 2-5 in the league.

BRILLIANCE OF THE SENIORS OF THE COUGARES

SINCLAIRVILLE – Cassadaga Valley won their senior evening match against Brocton in straight sets, 25-8, 25-17, 25-13 over West II.

The Cougars seniors shone with Madison Ring getting four kills, three aces and two blocks; Payton Alessi had four aces, one kill and one block; and Aystyn Barrett had five aces, five digs and two kills.

“Our three seniors have put a lot of years into the program and it was good to see those three lead us to victory. said Cassadaga Valley head coach Denny Wakelee.

Brocton was led by Savannah Krystofiak with three kills, two digs and an assist; Andrea Spiller with two kills, two assists and three aces; and Cassidy Giappa with four digs and three assists.

The Cougars are 9-3 overall and 5-3 in the league while Brocton is 0-8 overall and 0-7 in the league.
