AARP Hawaii will host a free webinar for kupuna on the COVID-19 vaccine booster at noon on October 15.
Dr. Aida Wen, associate professor of geriatric medicine at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii, and CJ Johnson, outreach specialist with the state Department of Health, will speak at the webinar.
“We believe it is essential for kupuna to obtain information from reliable sources on COVID-19, vaccine recalls, new variants and what the state is doing to make the boosts available to eligible people.” AARP Hawaii State Director Keali’i Lopez said in a press release Tuesday.
To sign up and get a Zoom link, visit aarp.org/nearyou or facebook.com/AARP Hawaii and click “Events to come.”
Kupuna and others can also get immunization updates and booster information at aarp.org/hi or aarp.org/vaccineinfo.
The DOH also has a phone line open during business hours Monday through Friday at (808) 586-8332, and Aloha United Way also answers questions about vaccines on 211 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
