Apple has officially confirmed today its March event. The company sent invitations to the press and invited them to the Steve Jobs Theater on March 25 at 10:00 am (Pacific Time). The event should focus on subscriptions to streaming videos and Apple news, but there may be some surprises.

Bloomberg and BuzzFeed News have both announced that Apple's event will focus on its burgeoning service segment. The company has worked hard on both a premium version of Apple News and a streaming video service. This month's event will be the first public showcase of these two platforms.

Apple's streaming video service is expected to host dozens of original television shows and movies. While Apple is going to show its efforts this month, Variety has announced that the service itself might not be operational until the end of the year. As far as prices are concerned, the details remain unclear. CNBC announced that Apple would make at least some of its content available to Apple device owners. However, it seems likely that some content also requires a separate monthly subscription.

Plus, it looks like Apple is upgrading the TV app on Apple TV. The company is supposed to plan support for third-party subscriptions, which would allow you to subscribe directly to platforms such as HBO and CBS All Access via the TV app.

Finally, Apple News should benefit from a new paid subscription service. While negotiations between Apple and the publishers would have been tumultuous, the company would target a price of $ 10 per month for its customers.

BuzzFeed News announced last month that Apple would not release new material during its March event. However, several rumors of hardware changes in the pipeline are underway, including AirPods 2, AirPower, a new 9.7-inch iPad and an optimized iPad mini. If the March event does not include the material step, it is possible that these updates will be announced via press releases at about the same time.
