The Chelsea District Library (CDL) is full of bug activity this fall! The national tour Little Wonders: Insects at a Glance
The photographic exhibition opened on September 7 and will run until October 20. The exhibition is accompanied by works of art by local photographer, musician, illustrator and artist, Frank Cianciolo. Insects play an essential role in the environment. Seeing the insect world through art gives visitors a new appreciation for its beauty and diversity. Join us via Zoom on October 4 at 9 a.m. when Frank Cianciolo will discuss this beauty and the environmental significance o
f protecting our insect population with British biology professor and author Dave Goulson.
Dave Goulson is a professor of biology at the University of Sussex, specializing in bee ecology. He has published over 300 scientific papers on the ecology and conservation of bumblebees and other insects. Reflecting on insects, Goulson remarks, “Ugly or beautiful, it’s the little creatures that make the world go round. We should celebrate and appreciate them in all their wonderful diversity. Get a fresh take on bugs through the eyes of an artist and author at this live event.
