What we want to see from the Resident Evil showcase

Earlier this week, Capcom announced the RE Showcase, giving us a first look at what to expect from the Resident Evil franchise in the weeks and months to come.

Here’s everything we’d like to see from the storefront.

Resident Evil 8 release date

During the announcement, it was revealed that we will be seeing gameplay for the upcoming Resident Evil 8 for the first time.

Along with the gameplay, it would be great to see a release date for the game announced.

It has been said for some time that the game will release in April, but nothing has been confirmed.

The last RE titles were released in January or April, so unless Capcom drops RE8 immediately after the event, I think we can rule out January as a release date.

Instead, April seems like a likely release date, otherwise we’ll have to wait until fall as most developers choose not to release games during the summer.

Resident Evil 4 remake announcement

Following the success of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remake, fans immediately speculated on the possibility of a Resident Evil 4 Remake, with “leaks” claiming it was in the works.

Many fans would be delighted to know that the game is in production as it is often considered one of the greatest games of all time, and helped shape the way action games would play over the years. next decade with mechanisms like Quick Time Events.

Another possibility is a remake of Code Veronica, it was the next game in the series after RE3, so that would make sense, but it’s not as popular as a game as the numbered games, although it has intend to be the original RE3.

Live Action Movie Release Date

In 2020, we discovered a new live-action movie reboot for Resident Evil.

In 2002, the first Resident Evil movie was released, followed by many more.

These were directed by Paul WS Anderson and played Milla Jovovich as Alice.

A reboot has been announced, moving closer to the original source material.

Towards the end of 2020, we started to see a lot of set footage from the film, many of which looked surprisingly similar to their video game counterparts.

The current planned release date is September 9, 2021, but an official confirmation from Capcom would be great news to hear, also seeing a trailer would be the icing on the cake.

Netflix Animated Movie Release Date

A Resident Evil animated film is in production for release on Netflix.

This will star Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, bringing the iconic duo together for the first time since Resident Evil: Degeneration in 2008.

The first trailer for the film has been released, but there is still no release date, we just know it will arrive in 2021.

Manga release date

To close the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil, the new Resident Evil manga.

Announced at New York Comic Con’s MetaVerse online event, the new manga is slated for release in 2021 and will coincide with the animated film Infinite Darkness.

This won’t be the first time that a Resident Evil manga has been released, with several released over the years, including the popular Chinese manhuas.

2021 is shaping up to be a huge year for Resident Evil as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.

The first Resident Evil game was released on March 22, 1996 in Japan, the series is called Biohazard in Japan.

Since then, the series has sold over 105 million copies, making it one of the most successful gaming franchises of all time.
