Long Beach is continuing its COVID-19 mass vaccination efforts this week with clinics for healthcare workers and essential emergency workers. The city will begin the second phase of its deployment with people over the age of 75 on Saturday and will shift to educators, grocery store workers and emergency workers in the coming weeks.
Since last week, around 75% of the city’s essential health care the workers had been vaccinated, officials said. Long Beach is also moving ahead with vaccinations for residents and nursing home staff.
Vaccines intended for the general public will likely not be available until late spring or summer.

Yes. For now, Long Beach is prioritizing its local workforce and encouraging eligible residents to contact their employer first for information on vaccines. Those who cannot get vaccinated through their employer will be able to get vaccinated throughout the city. Essential healthcare workers who live in Long Beach and who have not received their employer’s vaccine by January 19 should call 562-570-4636, option 6, and leave a message or email [email protected] to make an appointment in the city.
When will the city start offering vaccination clinics?
Immunization clinics started this week for essential health workers and essential emergency workers. They are by appointment only and will be distributed throughout the city to meet the needs of those who work there.
