Where can I get the COVID vaccine? Latest list of over 130 vaccination sites in NJ. (01/18/21)

As demand for the coronavirus vaccine grows in New Jersey, the state continues to increase the number of vaccination sites, including the addition of so-called “mega sites” that can deliver thousands of hits per day.

As of Sunday, more than 130 vaccine locations were posted on the state’s website. The state requires people to pre-register and then call to make appointments at specific locations.

The most recent sites include four coronavirus vaccine mega-sites in the Moorestown Mall in Burlington County, the Rowan College of South Jersey in Gloucester County, the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Middlesex County and Rockaway Townsquare in Morris County. Two more mega sites will open later in East Rutherford and Atlantic City.

State officials have said the mega sites will eventually have the capacity to vaccinate up to 2,000 people per day. At present, however, the federal government is not providing enough doses to make this happen.

The shots were fired initially at healthcare workers, long-term care residents, other people living on congregation premises, police and firefighters.

But Murphy announced Wednesday that anyone 65 years of age or older and people aged 16 to 64 with specific medical conditions can make vaccine appointments starting today.

This includes 1.47 million people aged 65 and over, 2 million smokers, and up to 1 million others with chronic health conditions. (Smokers are considered to have a high risk health problem).

Over the next six months, New Jersey plans to vaccinate about 4.7 million people. The general public should be able to receive the vaccinations before April or May, according to state and federal authorities.

Here is the latest list of vaccination sites listed by the state, although dose availability may affect appointment times. Supplies can also fluctuate daily as the federal government ships more vaccines to the states.
