Where to buy N95 and KN95 masks as COVID strains continue to mutate

Wearing a face mask in public has become the new normal, and it’s also one of the most important things you can do to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus – especially as more contagious strains have recently been discovered in Brazil, South Africa, Denmark and the United Kingdom.

The Center for Disease Control recommends wearing a face mask in public, and many companies mandate it for you to enter their facility.

“Masks are a simple barrier to keep your respiratory droplets from reaching others,” says the CDC. “Studies show that masks reduce the spray of droplets when worn over the nose and mouth.”

Duke University also published a study in August that found the three types of face masks most effective in preventing the spread of the coronavirus are N95, three-layer disposable, and cotton. There were 14 types of face masks used in the study.

An N95 mask “is a respiratory protective device designed to achieve a very tight fit of the face and very effective filtration of airborne particles,” according to the FDA.

Finding N95 masks to buy can be difficult as they are in high demand, but there are many KN95 masks available right now. The main difference between the two is that KN95 masks are generally regulated by the Chinese government, while N95 masks are regulated by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in the United States, according to a report by Men’s Health. .

Here are the N95 and KN95 masks currently available online.

Many surgical masks are also sold in bulk at great prices – like this pack of 100 for under $ 36 on Amazon.

There are other face mask options as well, ranging from brand name masks like Adidas and Under Armor to the sports themed ones that Fanatics sells.
