Which City EV will be the slowest?

There is nothing better than a good old school super slow drag race. Forget about speed records and fractional seconds – I want to see a race so slow I could be in contention with the winner. And that’s exactly what happens when you pit four urban electric vehicles against each other.

Urban electric vehicles, technically known as quadricycles (which allow these cars to bypass the age, horsepower, and weight requirements of the driver), are tiny little vehicles that look more like a slightly larger and more refined Jeep Barbie of your childhood which grew very popular in European cities. In many places, you can hire these machines to get around town, which means you don’t have to own your own vehicle and take up even less space than a traditional compact car.

As a result, these things aren’t exactly models of power, but they don’t really need to be. This is exactly why we should prepare these vehicles for a drag racing battle.

This is exactly what the British team at What Car? do. They grabbed four different vehicles – the Citroën Ami, Renault Twizy, Micro Electric and REVAi – and prepared them for a one-on-one battle to see which one is faster. Or, in our case, which is the slowest.
