  • White Claw flies so fast that its manufacturer has trouble keeping it in stock.

  • "We are working hard to increase the supply because of the rapid growth in consumer demand," Sanjiv Gajiwala, Senior Vice President of Marketing at White Claw, told Business Insider. "Despite reported shortages, we are pleased to report that market share has continued to increase from 55% to 61% over the past eight weeks."
  • The complaints are accumulating on the social networks of customers who claim to not find White Claw in many stores. The hard drive brand is also facing complaints from customers who said they had bought cases containing empty white claw cans.
  • "No matter how much we receive from White Claw – just about every case we report will be gone in the next few days," said Josh Giboney, a beer manager in Fort Worth, Texas.

The growing popularity of White Claw has led to shortages and, in some cases, massive sales in stores across the United States in the past month, according to interviews with stores and customers of beer and alcohol.

"Over a weekend, we are looking at over 100 cases of the White Claw Variety Pack," said Olivia Atkinson, owner of Montauk Beer and Soda in Montauk, NY. , at the east end of Long Island. "Since we do not have it, we sold 100 cases."

White Claw, which has reported triple-digit sales growth over the past year, has confirmed to Business Insider that it is behind production.

"We are working hard to increase supply given the rapid growth in consumer demand," said Sanjiv Gajiwala, White Claw senior vice president of marketing, in a statement. "In the meantime, we have awarded products to our distributor partners to keep all the markets in stock as best as possible and will continue to do so until we find our stock of normal security stock. "

The company, which belongs to Mark Anthony Brands, the maker of Mike's Hard Lemonade, declined to provide a timeline indicating when production should meet demand and inventory levels normalize.

Some stores face shortages of White Claw and limited orders

In Fort Worth, Texas, Goody Goody Liquor can not keep White Claw in stock more than two days at a time, according to Josh Giboney, the store's beer manager.

"No matter how many times we get the white claw, just about all the cases we report will be gone in the next few days," he said in an interview. "The people who buy it arrive early and get a lot, knowing that everything will sell well."

The store's distributor has recently been out of stock of several white claw aromas, he said.

"They do not have enough at their warehouse to sell us," he said. "We put orders and they have to deduct half of them."

He explained that the shortage of drinks was great, saying that men and women of all ages entered the store and asked for the white label.

"It reaches a market of just about everyone," he said.

Ken Wieler, owner of Richboro Beer and Soda in Richboro, Pennsylvania, said the distributor who had stocked his store in White Claw had limited ordered quantities of his hard seltzer while shortages persisted.

"They limit us to 39 cases per order, while we are probably selling 65 cases a week," said Wieler. "These are not complete breakdowns, but we do not get what we want."

The lack of supply is disturbing some customers.

"People want answers," said Atkinson. "They want their white claw."

Kelsey Felix of Fayettville, Arkansas, told Business Insider that she had visited three stores Wednesday before finding a package of seltzer varieties.

"I first tried a local liquor store and then a Walmart neighborhood market," she said. "I finally found it in a second local liquor store."

Dozens of people have expressed frustration and concern over the scarcity of social media, some calling it "crisis" and begging local stores to replenish their stocks at White Claw.

White Claw faces complaints of lack of liquid in cans

Separately, the seltz brand of products faces complaints from customers who claim to have purchased White Claw cases containing empty cans.

Emi Driscoll is one of those clients. She told Business Insider that she had bought a pack of six from White Claw on August 22nd and that two of the six cans were empty.

"Their Twitter account has answered me and asked me to fill out a contact form about it," she said. "I have never heard it, but I have never heard it."

The company declined to comment on complaints about empty cans.

Among these issues, White Claw continues to dominate the fast-growing hard disk market.

"Despite reported shortages, we are pleased to report that market share has continued to grow from 55% to 61% in the last eight weeks," Gajiwala said, citing data from the IRI research firm .

"It's a really exciting time for the White Claw brand," he said. "White Claw has accelerated faster than anyone could have predicted and we are delighted with the immense brand love we have received from a wide range of consumers."
