Warning: Spoilers to come.

After years of anticipation leading to the epic battle between the living and the dead on "Game of Thrones", fans finally know the fate of their favorite characters – and the dreaded Night King – after the episode of Sunday's hit drama. However, two characters were notably absent from the post-fight scenes: Jon Snow's Ghost Saywolf and one of the last two dragons of Daenerys Targaryen, Drogon and Rhaegal.

The third 82-minute episode of Season 8, "The Longest Night," portrayed Ghost at the beginning of the battle of Winterfell standing on the forehead alongside the longtime advisor and friend of Daenerys, Jorah Mormont, as well as Dothraki's army. The army was the first to fight the White Walkers and the wights during this episode, running in the dark with weapons on fire. However, as the flames extinguished and surviving soldiers came back to the gates of Winterfell with horror, Ghost seemed lost for good.

The two surviving Daenerys dragons, as well as the dead of the Viserion undead, lost to the benefit of the king's army at night, were also seen in action several times during the episode. The dragons fought Viserion over the clouds, burning many of the legumes as they headed for Winterfell – and Drogon even unsuccessfully attempted to burn the king of the night in one breath with his fiery breath. While a dragon surrounds Daenerys as she mourns the tragic death of Jorah, the other is not found at the end of the episode.

So, did they manage to get out alive? Fans will not have to wait for the answer for the next episode because the new preview seems to have revealed it.

HBO aired the preview of the fourth episode after the credits, and a few familiar faces quickly appear in the clips. In the 18th second of the 40-second teaser, Daenerys and a group of victorious soldiers appear outside Winterfell, some carrying torches. Ghost also seems to be in on it, standing in the crowd. Then, 22 seconds after the beginning of the clip, a pair of dragons scrolls past Sansa Stark as she looks from the turrets of Winterfell.

Thus, it seems that the favorite animals of the series have survived the bloody battle, but they may not be safe for long. Like "the last war" against Cersei and his supporters is yet to come.
