Electric car company shares You're here (NASDAQ: TSLA) climbed Wednesday until reaching 5.3%. From 12 am EST, however, the stock was up 4.7%.
The gain from this action follows a tweet from Elon Musk, President and CEO of Tesla, on the night of Tuesday to Friday, announcing that the company would share Thursday "Tesla news".
"Thursday 14h", tweeted Musk in the night from Tuesday to Friday. "Some news from Tesla," said the CEO in a follow-up tweet, eliminating the possibility that the news will focus on his other companies, SpaceX or the start-up Boring Co., specializing in tunnels digging. Tweets thread, suggesting that the event will take place at 14 pm PST.
Speculation about what Tesla could announce is widespread. The assumptions are as varied as the long-awaited standard version of Battery Model 3, and a new hardware suite for its autopilot technology. The news might also not be related to new products and instead focus on business news such as new hires or financial news.
Investors might not have more information about the mysterious announcement of Tesla before tomorrow at 2 pm. The upcoming speculation about the event is a risky business (professional investors should avoid) because there is no way of knowing what the company is going to share. But considering the stock move on Wednesday, the street seems to bet that it will be good news.
