The Tigers fan, Ely Hydes, caught Albert Pujols' ball in the third inning which gave the slugger 2,000 points and refuses to return for the simplest reasons.
"I just came here for a beer and a game," said Hydes at Fox Sports Detroit.
Hydes would have been unhappy with how the Tigers' security and personnel handled the negotiations for the ball. Hydes told the station that he could give it to his brother.
"I did not know when he was hit," Hydes said of the importance of the ball. "I had just sat down, I had been there for eight seconds and I was booming. I know about it now, obviously. Pujols, who played the first 11 seasons of his career with the Cardinals, has a relaxed attitude to the fate of the ball.
