Wildlife World Zoo: Jaguar attacks the selfie taker

A woman who crossed a fence to take a selfie at a zoo in Arizona, USA, was attacked by a jaguar.

It happened Saturday and the wounds of the woman did not put her life in danger.

When she crossed the fence and approached the enclosure to take a picture of herself with the jaguar, it passed through the fence, leaving deep cuts on her arms.

Wildlife World Zoo Director Mickey Ollson said there was "no way to fix the border crossing".

"They are here for a reason," he said.

He added that the same animal had already attacked someone else who had crossed the fence, but not with so much seriousness. He confirmed that the Saturday incident resulted from a "human error" and that the animal would not be euthanized.

The video of the incident showed the woman, who is in her thirties, writhing on the floor.

Eyewitness, Adam Wilkerson, who took the video, told Fox News that he heard someone screaming "for help" and had crashed.

"The jaguar clasped his claws outside the cage around his hand and in his flesh," he said.

"My mother thinks about distracting the jaguar, she grabs her bottle of water and pushes it into the cage, right next to the jaguar.

"The jaguar leaves the girl a little behind because the claw only takes her sweater, at which point I grabbed her by the chest and pulled her out. away from the cage and she cleared it.

"The jaguar is just after the bottle."

The zoo said in a tweet that he was sending prayers to the woman's family.
