Will Kang the Conqueror appear in the “What if …?” final?

I want to greet Matt ramos, entertainment reporter for Complex, for tweeting a theory for the “What if …?” »Final season it’s so good, it must happen.

wonder will drop the Season 1 finale of “What if …?” Wednesday morning, giving us a conclusion to the end of the multiverse story. The show – initially seen as a set of isolated episodes – slowly grew into a more connected story, as the villainous Vision emerged as a huge threat to the multiverse.

In Episode 8 a spectacle – “What if… Ultron wins?” “ – we see a future in which the Avengers will never stop Ultron in “Age of Ultron”. Thus, Ultron and his drones take over the world, killing the Avengers and nearly bringing the world to an end. Soon after, Ultron took possession of the Infinity Stones. So imagine the smartest mind in the world having control over the most powerful tools in the universe. Yeah, that’s very bad for you.

Ultron soon realizes the Observer (Jeffrey Wright), who has observed all of the events of “What if …?” And tell what is happening. This leads to the Watcher and Ultron fighting, bouncing through different universes as they fight.

The Observer, apparently defeated, heads for a universe where Doctor strange literally finished the universe because he couldn’t live without the love of his life. The Observer asks Doctor Strange for help, a sign that the Avengers shown throughout this show will unite and become Guardians of the Multiverse for the season finale.

But back to Ramos’ theory – that there might be something darker waiting around the corner. Ramos tweeted that the perfect ending to “What if …?” that would be if Kang the Conqueror (The One Who Remains) shows up and defeats Ultron.

“He’s more obsessed with the multiverse and that would be the perfect way to show off his power and make him the next big bad!” Ramos tweeted.

For the uninitiated, Kang the Conqueror is another name for He Who Remains, the character seen at the end of “Loki,” who controlled the multiverse. (For context, Jonathan Majors played He Who Remains in the Season 1 finale of “Loki” and he was hired to play Kang in the upcoming “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” – a sign that they are the same character.)

We’ve seen He Who Remains grow into a major powerhouse in a universe, which Loki is in at the end of the “Loki” Season 1 finale. Whoever remains said in the Season 1 finale of “Loki” that there are other variants of him that are worse – variants that would seek to conquer the universe. It was a subtle clue that whoever remains will be the big villain of the next series of Marvel projects, taking over from Thanos (or, in a way, Loki, who was the original MCU villain before that. Thanos does show up).

Indeed, making Kang appear at the end of “What if …?” Taking down Ultron would be a sign that he is the true big bad of the multiverse and would pose the greatest threat to the Avengers.

And it would be a nice reward for those who watched the Marvel Projects on Disney + without ruining the later experiences of MCU feature film viewers. This would only add more context to Kang / He Who Remains without minimizing it in future projects. Make Kang appear in “What if …?” Would be a great way for the character to make an impact, build his backstory, and show he’s the real villain to watch out for in the future.

I will say, however, that there are no major clues that Kang will appear in the finale. But, it wasn’t like there were many clues that he would appear in “Loki” either. We’ll have to wait and see what happens in Wednesday’s final. But if the Multiverse is up for grabs in the upcoming finale, then you know anything is possible, even the reveal of Marvel’s next big villain.
