BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem will soon be hosting COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

Mayor Bob Donchez said Thursday that the Bethlehem Health Bureau has partnered with the Wind Creek Event Center to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to people aged 65 or older and to people aged 18 to 64 with certain medical conditions which increase the risk of serious illness from the virus.

All immunization clinics will be held at the Wind Creek Event Center starting the week of February 1, according to a press release from the mayor’s office. An email notification will be sent to everyone who made an appointment in February to inform them of the change in clinic location.

When more vaccines become available, the Bethlehem Health Unit will post a pre-registration form on its website. The Bethlehem Health Unit will prioritize appointments for residents of Bethlehem City, Northampton County and Lehigh County, as well as people living in areas not served by a local public health service.

The Bethlehem Health Office needed a place large enough to accommodate those looking for vaccines in the newly expanded Category 1A, the mayor’s office said.

“Wind Creek has graciously agreed to allow the Bethlehem Health Bureau to use its event center. This space will provide additional capacity to vaccinate more people in each clinic. I would also like to thank the Bethlehem Area School District and Moravian College for providing space for our clinics in December and January. The city of Bethlehem is fortunate to have such strong community partners, ”said Mayor Bob Donchez.

“It is with great pleasure that we join forces with Mayor Donchez, the Bethlehem Health Office and the owners of the event center to provide a venue for the city of Bethlehem to help administer the Covid-19 vaccine,” said Kathy McCracken, EVP & GM Wind Creek Bethlehem. “Since the onset of this devastating pandemic, Wind Creek has made the health and safety of our guests and team members a priority, and by opening our doors to act as a vaccination site, we are in able to extend this to the whole community.
