Woman injured during tie replacement at Topsfield Fair – Boston 25 News

TOPSFIELD, Massachusetts – A woman is recovering this evening after being injured while trying to replace a tie at the Topsfield Fair, fair officials said in a statement on Saturday.

The woman was on the 4-H Horse Show and cut herself, and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. Saturday.

First responders had initially received reports that the incident could have been a stabbing, but later learned at the scene that it was an accident and that the woman had accidentally cut herself on the body. abdomen while working with a blade, firefighters said.

“There is no threat to Topsfield Fair workers, exhibitors or customers or the general public,” police, firefighters and fair officials said in a joint statement.
