Collierville, Tenn. – Olivia King, the woman killed in a mass shooting at the Kroger in Collierville, was buried on Saturday.

King’s funeral was held at the Catholic Church of the Incarnation on Bray Station Road. in Collierville.

King, 70, was one of 15 people in total injured after a man who worked for a third-party sushi company inside the Kroger on New Byhalia Rd. Entered the store and opened fire on September 22 2021.

King was a parent volunteer at Crosswind Elementary Library in the late 1990s before joining the staff as a library assistant.

She also worked as a financial secretary at Collierville Elementary from 2004 to 2010.

His funeral took place a day after his visit, also at the Catholic Church of the Incarnation.

In a statement regarding the funeral, Pastor Mike Werkhoven said in part:

“Regarding the visitation and funeral of our parishioner, Olivia King; we remind everyone that this memorial and celebration of eternal life is also a ministry of consolation for Olivia’s family and friends. It is imperative that we respect their need to mourn the loss of Olivia and receive the healing they need. It is our responsibility as an ecclesial community to console those who mourn and to support and strengthen those who are suffering.

The king had three sons; Jason, Wes and Greg.
