Women disguised as seniors to get COVID-19 vaccine, officials say
Two women wearing gloves, goggles and hats are accused of impersonating the elderly in order to be vaccinated against COVID-19, according to health officials.
ORLANDO, Florida – Two women wearing gloves, goggles and hats are accused of impersonating the elderly in order to be vaccinated against COVID-19, according to health officials.
“It’s the most popular product in existence right now,” Orange County health official Dr Raul Pino said of the vaccine.
On top of that, Pino said they arrived at the Orange County Convention Center on Thursday for the second shot.
“They had a valid CDC card, a vaccination card, there were problems with their identity papers and their driver’s license,” explained Dr Pino.
He said the women were about to receive the vaccine when they were arrested.
“The vaccinators of course detected that they looked funny,” said Dr Pino.
MPs were called and, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the women had “… birthdates that did not match the ones they used to register for vaccines. The names, however, matched the recording ”.
Women accused of dressing like the elderly to get vaccinated
MPs say two women, aged 34 and 44, are accused of disguising themselves as the elderly in an attempt to receive vaccines against the coronavirus.
The woman, aged 34 and 44, has received trespassing warnings.
“Part of the conclusions we have to make is – were they really vaccinated by us? When they were vaccinated? What happened? What day and at what time? To try to determine if there is gaps in the process, ”said Dr Pino.
This is not the first time that health officials have said they are preventing people from getting vaccinated.
When asked about the overall fraud, Dr Pino added that another man who had the same name as his father had attempted to show his father’s card at the vaccination center, but the birthday did not match.
