You can see it not only in the way they play, but in the joy in which they play. First place Woodhaven volleyball team having fun and there were plenty of spikes, blocks, high-fives and smiles after a convincing 3-0 win (25-10, 25- 8, 25-7) on the league for Southgate Anderson at home Thursday night.

The Warriors got to work immediately in the first set, taking a 6-2 lead over the Titans. And everyone got involved in the action.
A kill by Olivia Rozycki was 14-6, a kill by Brooke Hart was 16-7 and a kill by Jenna Jenkins did. he 17-7. An ace from Olivia Ramirez gave the Warriors a 20-8 advantage. A kill from Abigail Weise gave Woodhaven a 22-9 lead and an ace from Alaina Craig gave the Warriors a 25-10 victory in Game 1.
The second set was similar as Woodhaven jumped ahead again. A tip from Julia Downey gave the Warriors a 3-1 lead, then a push from Downey pushed Woodhaven ahead 6-3. An ace from Ramirez gave Woodhaven a 16-7 lead and a nice tip from Jenkins ended the set at 25-8.
The third set followed a script similar to the previous two.
Erica Pagac’s victory brought the Titans down to 6-2 at the start of the set. Anderson not only played hard – the Titans dived all over the floor all night long – but also made some great plays. The Warriors simply did more that night.
An ace from Lucie Douglas gave the Warriors a 10-2 advantage and a tip from Lindsay Marlewitz gave the home side a 19-4 lead. A kill by Jenkins is 20-6.
The Warriors ended the set with a kill from Hart, an ace from Kirsten Cradle and a block, then a tip from Hart to score a 25-7 victory.
Next on Woodhaven’s schedule is a game at Allen Park on Wednesday October 7th. Anderson is expected to host Wyandotte Roosevelt the same evening.
