World’s newest automaker finally done deal

This is finally done over a year after Fiat Chrysler and PSA Groupe announced plans for a 50-50 merger. Automakers issued a press release announcing the founding of Stellantis over the weekend, and it is now the world’s fourth-largest automaker. “The merger between Peugeot SA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV which will pave the way for the creation of Stellantis NV entered into force today,” the two automakers said in a statement.

FCA brands including Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Fiat and Chrysler now all fall under the same roof as Peugeot, Citroën and Opel. In total, Stellantis consists of 14 brands, although Chrysler’s future is already uncertain. Stellantis common stock will begin trading on Euronext in Paris and the Mercato Telematico Azionario in Milan, Italy, on Monday, and on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday. FCA is officially no longer.
