Xiaomi sold 2 million units of the Redmi Note 7 series in India, marking a turning point in just under three months. As in previous years, Xiaomi is thrilled to launch another variant of the series, the Redmi Note 7S. The device is identical to the Redmi Note 7 in all areas, but the configuration of the 48MP + 5MP rear camera is identical to that of the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
We know that Xiaomi is coming into the market with phones that have little different specifications, and nowhere is this more obvious than the Redmi Note 7S. Except for the 48MP + 5MP camera at the rear, the Redmi Note 7S is identical to Note 7. The same 6.3-inch FHD + panel, the Snapdragon 660, the 13MP front-end shooter, the card slot Hybrid SIM and 4000 mAh battery.
The phone will be sold in the same two variants as the Redmi Note 7, and will cost an additional £ 1,000. The 3GB / 32GB model will be available at a price of £ 15,999 ($ 160), and the 4GB / 64GB edition will debut at £ 12,999 ($ 190). Sales will start on May 24 and will be available in Mi Home and Flipkart stores.
Xiaomi sells the Redmi Note 7S as Redmi Note 7 in global markets like the UK. So I do not quite understand why Xiaomi did not launch this model in India to begin with. The brand may have an excess of 12MP camera modules and want to eliminate them before deploying the 48MP model.
Essentially, Xiaomi has made the situation even more confusing for shoppers looking to take one of his phones. Hundreds of thousands of customers bought the Redmi Note 7 as soon as it went on sale earlier this year and Xiaomi made the device obsolete in less than three months. With the Redmi Note 7S offering a much better 48 MP camera – the same shooter as the Pro model – for just £ 1,000, there's even less differentiation between the camera and the Redmi Note 7 Pro's 4 GB / 64 GB, which costs £ 199 ($ 205).
I have no idea what Xiaomi thinks here, but if you recently bought a Redmi Note 7 in India, you have good reason to be angry.
