Felix “xQc” Lengyel is back on Twitch after being temporarily banned from the platform for his involvement in a sniping incident. In a recent stream, the old Overwatch pro found himself playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch, or more precisely Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Online, which quickly frustrated the player with his lag. At one point, playing with Cloud against a player using Lucia, the lag got so severe that it made the game virtually unplayable, which in turn triggered an xQc signature merge.
“Hey, congratulations man. Congratulations,” xQc said after being finished in an extremely late moment (which can be seen on the right here). “I sincerely hope that you will spend your whole life getting good at this s ** tf ***** g game. And you go to your local tournament and earn enough money to buy a ***** g router you broke like p **** y. “
The streamer continued:
“I hate this game. It’s so trashy. Holy shit. Oh my gosh. Get a router man. I can’t man. This is shit. G trash man. Get me out of it. here man, fuck it. “
By the end of the tirade, xQc seemed to be laughing at the situation, suggesting that the moment was more surface-level rage than anything else. Having said that, he’s not the first person to get angry. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the shift, and it will not be the last. Lag is a big problem in all fighting games, but it’s particularly Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
When Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Launched in December 2018, it had lag and connectivity issues, and while Nintendo made marginal improvements to alleviate those issues, it wasn’t enough. There isn’t much Nintendo can do to a certain extent, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement.
