You can now play Resident Evil Village ‘Maiden’ demo on PS5

If you’ve got a PlayStation 5, you probably know that there isn’t a whole lot to play at the moment – especially if you’ve already finished the likes of Miles Morales, Souls of the demon and Astro Games Room. But here’s something to (very briefly) explain: you can now download the Resident Evil Village “Young lady” demo before the full game release date of May 7th. It wasn’t available in the PS Store at first, but it’s been around for about an hour now.

In the PlayStation Store on my PS5, the game featured prominently in the ‘What’s Hot’ section for me, and I was able to start the download by pressing a few buttons. But if you’re away from your PS5 and want to download the demo remotely so it’s ready to play later, there are a few ways to do that as well.

  • If you are using a browser, here is the link to Maiden’s list on the PlayStation Store, where you should be able to add the game to your library.
  • If you’re using the PlayStation mobile app, tap the magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen and search for ‘maiden’. For me, Young lady was the fourth search result. Tap on it, and you should be able to start the download from there.
  • On the mobile application, you can also access the Young lady page of the Resident Evil Village list by tapping the box above the pre-order button and selecting Young lady in the list of editions for Town.

Here’s where to find the demo in the app. Click on this “PS5 Standard Edition” option to change it to “Maiden”.

Young lady is a separate experience from Resident Evil Village or you play as a character known as “the maiden” instead of From the village protagonist, Ethan Winters. If you want to learn more about the demo before you download it, check out this article on the PlayStation Blog.

Resident Evil Village launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, and PC on May 7. Capcom announces that a “cross-platform demo” for the game will be available this spring.
