YouTube star Albert Dyrlund, 22, falls from mountain while filming video

Albert Dyrlund, a Danish YouTuber known for his music videos and comedy skits, died on Wednesday while filming a video in the Italian Alps. He was 22 years old.

Dyrlund’s mother Vibe Jørger Jensen confirmed her son’s death to Danish news channel TV2 on Friday. She said he was shooting a video for his channel in Forcella Pana when he fell 200 meters from a mountain, according to Newsweek. A rescue helicopter was reportedly called to the mountain, but it was unfortunately too late and Dyrlund was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We’re in great grief, but I wish his fans knew about it,” Jensen told Newsweek, before asking for their family’s confidentiality.

Dyrlund launched his channel in 2016, according to his YouTube page, and had racked up more than 170,000 subscribers, as well as 233,000 Instagram followers, by the time of his death.

According to IMDb, he also starred in the 2018 comedy “Team Albert”. He documented much of the production via vlogging on his channel.

Fellow YouTuber Johnni Gade posted a heartfelt tribute in honor of Dyrlund on his channel on Friday, titled “Rip Albert Dyrlund”.
