Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead gets its first zombie-filled trailer

Zack Snyder might have his own cut of Justice League on the way, but it’s not the only film he’s releasing this year. He is also behind the new Netflix movie, Army of the dead, which got its first zombie-filled trailer on Thursday morning.

Army of the dead seems to start somewhere near the start of a new zombie apocalypse. But as the trailer shows, it’s not your typical story of survivors banding together to fight zombies and stay alive. Instead, the film follows a team of mercenaries, led by Dave Bautista (guardians of the galaxy, Stuber) who are planning to carry out a massive heist in Las Vegas, with the zombies acting as the perfect cover. Of course, the trailer lets us know that it’s not exactly the perfect crime, and things definitely go off the rails once the walking dead are involved.

This is the first time Snyder has returned to the zombie-apocalypse genre since his 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. It’s also the first time Snyder has made a streaming exclusive movie – at least depending on how you categorize Justice League by Zack Snyder.

Army of the dead hits Netflix on May 21.
