Former MP Zanu-PF and outgoing legislator Epworth Zalerah Makari claimed that her supporters had been arrested by the police despite the fact that they had been victims of political violence. This comes after the police arrested at least 9 people as a result of violent clashes in Epworth. Makari who claims to be independent after losing Zanu-PF's primary elections said,
It's a total madness, the victim is now arrested, and my supporters have been beaten and then arrested, that's all. is it? People should learn to campaign peacefully and stop unleashing violence on behalf of Zanu PF. If [Damson] has supporters, why beating innocent people and having them arrested?
