The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission said that more than three quarters of the votes cast in Monday's harmonized elections were counted and that polling results should begin to be announced starting at 3 pm

About 1.3% of voters were fired for various reasons, ranging from lack of identity papers to bad polling stations.
Chigumba urged political parties to refrain from announcing unofficial results.

"It is illegal to announce results because it directly contravenes Section B of Section 60 (A) of the Elections Act," she said.

"L & Announcement of election results by unofficial sources could mislead the public and create unnecessary political emotions.The public is invited to disregard the announcement of these results. "
