ZPR National Police spokesman Charity Charamba, senior deputy commissioner, said the police will restructure the traffic section. The ZRP will also introduce technologies such as 24-hour live cameras to reduce corruption and apprehend offenders. Speaking to the Sunday Mail, Charamba said,

… .Since the changes that include the reduction of roadblocks after so many complaints about the public, the Commissioner General has ordered that the roadblocks be reduced and synchronized and there will be more emphasis on decongestion the city, as opposed to the construction of roadblocks.

We are still waiting for delivery of more cameras, but we have deployed cameras at strategic locations so we do not chase people the way we used to. But the challenge we have is that so many vehicles do not have license plates, we already have an operation targeting such vehicles.

… We are also introducing a new system to fight corruption. With the new electronic traffic management system, there will be no way for a police officer to change the amounts charged for fines.
