Japanese fashion mogul Yusaku Maezawa announced plans to auction multi-million dollar works for lack of money.

Maezawa, founder and CEO of online fashion retailer Zozo, announced in a Saturday Twitter article that he was planning to sell several items at a Sotheby's auction in New York on May 16th.

The art-loving billionaire has attached to the message screenshots of two pieces: an Ed Ruscha painting of an estimated value between 2 and 3 million dollars and a painting of flowers from Andy Warhol with an estimate of 1.5 to 2 million dollars.

In response to a query from the user about whether the sale was due to the fact that he had no money, Maezawa replied Sunday to a message on Twitter: "Yes, I never have money, I always spend it," ending the message with a laughing emoji in the face.

Past advertising spend by the entrepreneur includes the purchase of a $ 110 million painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat and the first private passenger transported around the moon by SpaceX from Elon Musk.

Maezawa's ambitions only moved. The billionaire has only recently returned to Twitter after a series of missteps in companies that saw Zozo share price plummet more than half and let his cash weakened.
