Fifty years after the United States elected the first man on the moon, space agencies and private companies around the world are now turning to a new era of lunar exploration. In January, China became the first nation to successfully send a lunar probe to study the dark side of the moon. NASA, the US space agency, announced last week its accelerated schedule for the construction of the first lunar orbit outpost and the first woman on the moon by 2024. In addition, India plans to have his own rover and lander examining the south pole of the moon.
