11 Mainers die as 402 new coronavirus cases are reported by Maine CDC

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) – The Maine CDC reported 402 new cases of COVID-19 in the state on Saturday.

11 other Mainers have died from the coronavirus. Three deaths are reported in Androscoggin County and Kennebec County. Cumberland, York, Penobscot, Hancock and Franklin each report one additional death.

The 11 new deaths bring the total since the start of the pandemic to 292.

Of the 18,739 cases of COVID-19 in Maine since the start of the pandemic, 16,266 are confirmed. The rest are considered probable cases.

Recoveries now total 10,766, an increase of 22 from Friday.

The largest increase in overnight cases was recorded in Cumberland County with 145 cases.

Penobscot reports 37 new cases.

Kennebec County has 32.

12 of 16 counties recorded a double-digit increase in cases.
